Commissioning artwork
I am very much an amateur, and painting is something I do because it brings my joy and helps me relax, rather than for commercial gain. Having said that, I have undertaken a number of commissions over the last few years, and am always happy to be approached, even if I can’t always say yes: please leave a comment on this page and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.
Thanks so much for this link, and for the ‘follow’ on Twitter. I REALLY love your work! (I’m @pilgrim4j1 on Twitter, Dona Gondwe)
Hi Ally – I’m a friend of a friend who suggested I look at your fantastic artworks because I was looking for an artistic depiction of the Magnificat as a visual for a virtual choir video I’m putting together. I love your work and I’ve found just what I need – it will be credited, of course!
That’s great to know! I love hearing about it when my pictures find new uses 🙂
Thank you so much for these images! I am a bulletin editor for my parish, and I love being able to use art portraying people of color! Besides ancient icons, it can be hard to find non-white-European images that are free to use. I am bookmarking your blog 🙂 Thanks again.
I’m so glad that you’ve found these images helpful – please do carry on helping yourself and using them in any way that supports your ministry! 🙂
Lovely work on here, Ally : )
Hi Ally – your painting of self-care Elijah is perfect for next Sunday. It’s already helping me to shape my sermon. Thank you for sharing your gifts.
You’re so welcome 🙂
=)
Thank you, Ally. I was looking for some art for this coming Sunday’s gospel, and the ‘Crumby Dog’ is just great.
Did you see all four crumby dog pictures?
Rev. Ally, we have used your artwork, Women of Holy Week, for our worship services this past week at the Church of the Village UMC in NYC (churchofthevillage.org). Thank you for this blessing!
Dear Rev Ally,
Our Vicar at St Johns, Stoneleigh will use Paula Gooder’s wonderful book Women of the Nativity for his Advent theme. We have a 24 hour vigil in church from 9am on Saturday 6th December to 9am on Sunday 7th December and have decided to focus on the same theme. There will be five prayer stations to correspond with the five candles on the Advent wreath – so will we have Sarah – the Matriarch, Huldah the Prophet, Elizabeth, Mary and our candle station for the Light of the World. I was grateful to find most of your beautiful illustrations on your website and, as advised have copied Sarah, Huldah and Mary and added your copyright statement. A picture and a short piece of background information will be at each prayer station. Sadly I couldn’t find Elizabeth but hope to find a way of “borrowing it” from my book. (really against a librarian’s nature to do it that way!). I hope you don’t mind – your generosity in making your artwork available is much appreciated.
I found the book extremely interesting but must also say I have also enjoyed the narrated versions on the Church of England really wonderful to listen to.
I am so glad I went looking for your artwork – congratulations on a really interesting website – I have subscribed and will return! There is much here which has given me a point to be quiet with and to feel God’s presence through your work.
With best wishes – and our thanks
Polly
