This page is where you can find some of the ‘silly stories’ that Daniel and Joanna have at bedtime. They’re known as ‘silly stories’ because they’re not proper stories from a book, they’re ones we make up together, often based on a mixture of fairy tales and things that have happened during the day. Enjoy!
Miss Meeks’ Cupboard is the longest story – I wrote it for my son’s 8th birthday, so it’s based on his slightly esoteric interests! It’s 26 pages long in the pdf version, so I’d read it onscreen if I were you.
The Curtains is a heartwarming story about a pair of curtains. It’s not based on a real pair of curtains at all because Daniel actually has a navy blue blind on his bedroom window…
The Chicken was written by me and Daniel on holiday in Gloucestershire. It was inspired by a real event but got a bit sidetracked into things that didn’t actually happen.
The Beast is also based on real events but with some hefty bits of poetic licence.
Loved your silly stories. – must be bedtime! And the clip art lovely, and a great resource thanks.
It’s my pleasure to share! Thank you for visiting and for taking the time to leave a comment – it’s always nice to know that people really read this stuff and enjoy it! Daniel will be delighted that you enjoyed the bedtime stories, as most of them are his ideas.
Discovered your blog through clergy mummies and am enjoying it. I wish I was so creative. Love the chicken story (my kids will too) and will be using the prophetic smashing of chocolate egg for Easter Day talk. Thank you again.
You are very welcome! The bedtime stories are from a while ago now – these days my son tends to write up his dreams as short stories, and they are highly entertaining!
